Terry Barber is a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily across drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and printmaking, with the occasional foray into animation. Terry’s work is generally concerned with found

objects, stories, myths, and forgotten histories, often using found or recycled materials as they offer the chance to work freely and experimentally. Since the loss of her mother four years ago, she has been taking inspiration from objects uncovered in her family home, which has housed five generations. Among these is a collection of books from the 1960s, which she has been using in a variety of ways to recreate the house as she remembers it from childhood and the people who have lived there over the past century.

Having previously worked as a journalist and editor on a wide range of magazines and publications, Terry now concentrates on her studio practice in south-east London.
