Contemporary artist Stuart Ridley has been creating fresh, unique paintings for many years, working mainly in acrylic on canvas or paper. The subject of his paintings is usually portraiture, but recently he has been turning towards nature and trees for inspiration. Stuart doesn’t want to create something different just for the sake of it; he needs to have a genuine connection while making a new piece and if he doesn’t feel at ease with the finished work, he simply erases it. He has created more than 700 artworks spanning well over a quarter of a century and has sold his pieces globally. Stuart has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and attends many art-related courses as his love for all things art is of great importance to him. Past exhibitions include Espacio Gallery and he exhibits regularly at Morley Gallery, London.
